The Spotykach restaurant is a unique institution not only due to its name and a convenient location. At the entrance Nikita Khrushchev is smiling to you, at the kitchen well-known chef Alexander Maltsev is working , and Hetman Bohdan Khmelnitsky is pointing to a restaurant with his mace.
The Spotykach restaurant is the place in the center of Kiev where you can deeply feel retro combined with nostalgia. Although the restaurant was opened over a year ago foreigners flock here often making a considerable detour and booking a table for a month in advance in their original manner. The Spotykach is not only an excursion into the history for them, but also the opportunity to listen to «how it was”, to taste everything and see everything with their own eyes.
Ukrainian cuisine is liked by many people. Some are crazy over it and are sure that it is much tastier than the French! The Spotykach is unique because culinary masterpieces of the Soviet times are re-created according to the witnesses’ recipes and cookery-books of 1960s and our chef cooks a wide variety of them for our visitors.
