Forecast for the 2nd half of 2014
Most of all foreign visitors this year will arrive to London, Bangkok and Paris. Also they will spend billion dollars for accommodation, food and entertainments. Such assumptions were published by experts of the analytical center of the MasterCard company in Global Destinations Cities Index 2014 report, analyzing data for the1st half of the year and making the forecast for the 2nd half of year.
The annual rating is formed the fifth year in a row and is based on data of the governments of different countries and the international tourist analytical centers. Only those visitors whoare not the residents of the foreign country and who remained at least for one night are taken to the consideration. In total 132 cities in all parts of the world were analysed.
It is interesting that no single city of Eastern Europe didn’t get into the list of the most visited. But in a rating of 2013 Kiev appeared in the list of the cities with the most fast-growing number of foreign visitors. According to MasterCard data, for 2013 their number grew almost by 59%. However, this year the Ukrainian capital can’t brag of such growth any more, which isn’t surprising, considering a situation in the country since the beginning of this year.
