National Geographic announced the names of Traveler-2015 prize-winners
Winner names of National Geographic Traveler Contest are announced. The main winner of this year became Anuar Pataye – the photographer from Mexico with his etude «Exorcists of Whales». The works of competitors can be found on the pages of the National Geographic web portal.
«I didn’t plan this picture in advance. Simply I take photo of a whale, being at its headboard as suddenly he turned. Crowds of divers made way for the whale to let it swim, and just at this moment I managed to take a picture», — told the author of a picture in his interview for National Geographic.
Pataye will get a superprize – 8-day photo expedition to Costa Rica and the Panmsky channel for two. And the participant from Bangladesh Feysal Azim who took in competition the second place with his composition «Workers of gravel» for 6 days will go to the USA to admire Yellowstone beauty and to depict them on the camera.
The jury decided to award the authors of 7 works with incentive prizes – cash certificate for the purchase of equipment for $200.
This competition became the 27th tournament of photo works, organized by National Geographic. According to organizers, this year 17 thousand people submitted applications for participation.
