Credit cards in Ukraine
The most widespread way of final pay in Ukraine is cash. At the same time, practically all main credit cards like Visa, Mastercard, Cirus, Maestro are widely accepted. Nevertheless, there can be problems with payment by the American Express and Diners Club cards as these payment systems are insufficiently widespread in Ukraine. In many shops (in particular, large distribution networks), restaurants, hotels, at gas stations, etc. you will be able to pay off by a credit card.
One can also withdraw cash from the card, especially in the large cities. ATMs are installed in the terminals of the airports, at the stations, in the foyer of many hotels, supermarkets and simply on the street. The majority of ATMs are figured on the Ukrainian national currency – hryvnia. However in big cities, such as Kiev, Odessa, Lviv, Kharkov, there are also ATMs by means of which it is possible to withdraw the necessary sum in US dollars. But it is more favorable to withdraw money in hryvnia. The bank commission thus will make up to 3% of the sum.
