Customs control in Ukraine

Separate pass at customs where customs registration is carried out on the simplified procedure for citizens who move through customs control of Ukraine.

Departure from Ukraine You must not have any:

• weapon, explosives, psychotropic, narcotic, toxic agents, historical values and works of art, animals, products of a vegetable and animal origin.

You may have:

• the Ukrainian hryvnia — 15000;
• foreign currency (in USD equivalent) — $3000.

Entry into Ukraine You must have no:

• weapon, explosives, psychotropic and toxic agents, animals, products of a vegetable and animal origin, the historical values, baggage which has been separately sent or lost.

You may have:

• hard alcoholic beverages — 1L;
• wine — 2L;
• tobacco products — 200 cigarettes;
• other goods and subjects — total cost up to 200 euros;
• the Ukrainian hryvnia — 15000;
• foreign currency (in USD equivalent) — $3000.

Departure from Ukraine

It is authorized to take out (per one person irrespective of age):

• the Ukrainian hryvnia — up to 50000;
• foreign currency and/or traveler’s checks in a bag — up to $10000 or an equivalent of this bag in other foreign currency behind an official rate of hryvnia to the foreign currencies established by NBU on the date of crossing of the customs border (the bag is considered to take out on condition of oral declaring);
• money that were imported into Ukraine earlier on the lawful bases;
• for people aged up to 16 years when crossing frontier of Ukraine it is necessary to have notarized permission of both parents.

Entry into Ukraine

It is authorized to import (per one person irrespective of age):

• the Ukrainian hryvnia — up to 50000;
• foreign currency and/or traveler’s checks — up to 15000;
• the money which has been taken out earlier from Ukraine on the lawful bases (at presence of the customs declaration);
• jewelleryis charged according to the current legislation;
• for people aged up to 16 years when crossing frontier of Ukraine it is necessary to have notarized permission of both parents.
