Pancake weekends in Park Kievan Rus’

These days, people of Ancient Kiev wait for you on Pancake week celebration with ancient traditions and ceremonies. For guests of park is prepared special entertainment program within which it will be possible to try pancakes with honey, to participate in round dances around a fire, to look at statements of horse theater, fireworks and fiery show. Burning of a straw effigy and jumps through a fire becomes the culmination of action.

Pancake weekends on Mamayev Settlement

Besides reproduction of an ancient Ukrainian ceremony of Kolody, on the slobodsky fairground will take place team competitions on the fastest eating of the Ukrainian vareniki with cheese and the Russian pancakes. Friendly competitions will take place under the Cossack slogan: «Vareniki or pancakes?».

Pancake weekends on Savka’s Farm

To visitors of the Farm of Savka will conduct tour on a museum, will train to do a candle and a lyalka-motanka on special master classes, will feed dishes from the furnace, prepared according to ancient recipes and will acquaint with ancient ceremonies. Also to all wishing will show equipment of weaving on the ancient machine, will show as spun threads, will train to grind a flour on ancient stone millstones and to forge nails in a smithy. In end of a holiday will take place a burning of an effigy of winter which according to traditions will approach arrival of spring. Guests ask to take with itself an unnecessary rag, a tape or an old shirt. According to tradition, burning such linen are burning problems which happened to you last year.

Pancake weekends on an ostrich’s farm

Organizers are prepared broad entertainment program: guests will take part in quizzes, competitions of vesnyanka, will sing songs and dance. To the most extreme visitors will offer jumps in bags and rope pulling. Also the master class of «Grechaniki», game competitions and traditional burning of an effigy of winter will take place. It will be possible to regale during the holiday on wine and pancakes with various stuffing.
