The Monument to the Founders of Kiev was established in 1982 in honor of founders of Kiev.
Khoryv , Shchek, Kyi and their sister Lybid, as reported by the legends written in the Russian chronicles of XI—XII centuries, were princes in breeding association of polyans and they were the founders of three settlements, which were the base for the city of Kiev.
The authors of this memorial were the sculptor V. Z. Boroday, architect N. M. Feshchenko. The monument is situated on the Dnieper embankment, near the Dnieper metro station.
One more monument to founders of Kiev was established in 2002 on the Square of Independence (Maidan Nezalejnosti). On February 23, 2010 a monument was dismantled for reconstruction and solemnly opened on May 20, 2010 for the Day of Kiev.
