Hennessey put up for sale «fastest car in the world»

American company Hennessey put up for sale an exemplar of the Venom GT supercar, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records, reports the newspaper duPont Registry. In 2013, the car set a world record time of acceleration to 300 km/h, having overcome high-speed boundary in 13,63 seconds.
Also in February of last year, the sports car set a speed record among serial cars, but this indicator was not accepted by the Guinness Book of Records. On the runway of Kennedy Space center on Cape Canaveral Venom GT could take run 435.3 km/h, which is almost 4 km/h faster than indicators of Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, recorded in 2010.
For official fixing of record it was necessary to drive two-way route, then observers calculate average speed. However, the management of Space center, NASA-owned, forbade Hennessey to drive on the runway in the opposite direction.
Hennessey Venom GT is built on a modified Lotus Elise chassis, is equipped with a 7.0-liter twin-turbo «eight» with power 1244 HP. 29 exemplars were produced, the cost of which starts from $ 1.2 million.
So far the price of the record-holder supercar is kept a secret. In Hennessey stated that it will be announced on demand only of «the most serious customers.»
