Investments in renewable energy in Ukraine in 2021 amounted to 37 billion euros. Since 2010, nearly $13 billion has been raised in renewable energy production. Despite the 2020 crisis caused by the global coronavirus epidemic, investments in Ukraine, particularly in the energy sector, have not halted. Although they fell compared to the previous period.
The number of new facilities has increased significantly:- Solar power plants;
- SES in private households;
- Wind farms;
- Small hydropower facilities;
- Biomass power plants;
- Biogas power plants.
Thanks to investments in Ukraine, the number of power plants working on alternative energy sources has increased by almost three times! This is reported by the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Supply of Ukraine.
“Green” investments «Clean» energy has brought Ukraine more than 4 billion euros for 5 years. Over the course of just one year, so many new renewable energy facilities were built in our country that their capacity was 4.5 gigawatts! This is almost twice as much as all the power plants that were operating before 2019. The capacity we have allows us to provide nearly 3.5 million households in the country with the energy they need. Due to the increased interest of investors in the power sector, the banking sector — eco-banking — has also become more active. For example, banks provide loans for the development of renewable energy plants. This trend will improve the ecological situation in the country and reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere. Greenhouse effect can be reduced to zero if we give preference to alternative energy sources.
What else is worth working on The green tariff is a tariff at which the government pays the owners of solar and power plants for the production of electricity. As we know, the «green tariff» in Ukraine is one of the most expensive in Europe. Therefore, not everyone can afford to use such energy. It has been proposed to reduce the tariff for investors in Ukraine. It is also planned to hold a dialogue with the companies, which have concluded contracts with the state on obtaining green tariffs. Investments in Ukraine in the sphere of renewable energy encourage the launch of more and more new projects. And our country has everything for this: qualified employees with the necessary knowledge and experience, and equipment.
