Investment in agriculture in Ukraine increased by 73.8%
In 2020, as a result of the pandemic and related economic crisis, Ukraine found itself in a difficult economic situation. Today the agricultural sector is doing everything possible to help our country out of the crisis. First of all, by attracting investment. As reported by the association «Ukrainian club of agrarian business» from January to June 2021 the volume of capital investments in agriculture of our country has increased significantly. The increase was 73.8% or 17 billion UAH. For comparison we provide statistics for the same period of the previous year. Last year investments in Ukraine, in particular in agriculture, fell to the level of 2009. This may well be called an investment crisis: capital investments in agriculture declined by more than half. This summary was made by Nikolay Kisel, research associate of the Department of Investment and Logistics of the National Research Center «Institute of Agrarian Economics». Growth of investment trust in the agricultural sector of Ukraine The trust to the agricultural sector of both foreign and domestic investors is impressive. UCAB calls investments in the agricultural sector of Ukraine the largest compared to capital investments in other areas of economic activity of the country. Due to investments in the agro-industrial complex, agriculture has gained new momentum and opportunities for development:
- use of advanced technology: satellites, robotics;
- high-precision measurement of large amounts of data;
- programming of yields and reduction of agricultural waste;
- risk miscalculation.
